From practice to rehearsal - How do dreams translate into action?

15:15, Saturday 5th July
Here Is Hope

What does it take to move from dreaming about a fairer world to actively rehearsing it into being?

Learning in the open, Sophia Parker hosts a conversation between Amahra Spence and Immy Kaur - longtime co-conspirers and founders of MAIA, Hood Futures Studio and Civic Square respectively - to reflect on over a decade of shared work. They'll explore the spiritual, spatial, economic, and imaginative efforts that have supported the evolution of their inspiring work to build vibrant, engaged communities, including the invisible threads of relationship, grief, loss, and repair that have been part of the journey.

Together, they will delve into the questions that have shaped their journeys, and reflect on what it means to live well in these troubling times of economic insecurity, political polarisation, and global conflict. Through their dialogue, they'll share insights about their moments of clarity, the periods of doubt, and the emerging answers that offer glimpses of a more equitable future.

Speakers:  Amahra Spence (MAIA/ Hood Futures Studio), Immy Kaur (Civic Square)

Chair: Sophia Parker (JRF)

Format: In conversation
